Artist Fiona Kingdom has an extraordinary relationship with wood, she loves everything about it!
Here she describes her practice and we look forward to welcoming her to Melbourne for the Festival on 14th and 15th September...
"No lasers, CNC, 3D printing or plywood here!
I am compelled to work with wood and I am at my most content when at my saw. In a world full of the mediocre and mass production masquerading as art and craft, I am determined to at least try to skillfully make something that’s beautiful and one of a kind.
I create art pieces suggested by the wood I find, the landscapes I love, their inhabitants, and their stories."

Holly Kerslake will be exhibiting her paintings at the Melbourne Festival this year on 14th and 15th September and we are excited to see them.
The shapes within the paintings represent unique pieces of information or experiences. The works show the ongoing process of learning through life, depicting energy, joy, anger and conflict.
A great opportunity to view some excellent paintings and meet the artist too.
